Wholesale & distribution

Cartons in, pieces out, and every credit account in order

For wholesalers, traders and distributors who buy in volume, hold stock in more than one place and sell on credit.

How this business works

What makes it hard, and what helps

  • Buy in one unit, sell in another

Purchase by the carton, sell by the dozen or piece. Conversions are set once per product and stock stays correct.

  • Large credit balances

Customers owe real money. Each has a running balance, a statement, and an aging view that shows what is overdue.

  • Stock across godowns

Keep each warehouse separate and see the total. No more phoning the godown to ask what is left.

  • Orders before delivery

Take a sales order first, deliver in parts, and the invoice follows what was actually delivered.

In practice

An order from taking to collecting

  1. Take the order

Create a sales order for the customer with quantities in the unit they use.

  2. Confirm and deliver

Deliver all or part. Stock reduces from the chosen warehouse and an invoice is raised.

  3. Collect payment

Record money received into a bank or cash account against the customer.

  4. Chase dues

Use the receivables aging report to see who is late.

  5. Restock

Raise a purchase order to suppliers, receive goods, and pay them from the right account.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it handle bulk and carton pricing?

Yes. Units can carry their own purchase and sale prices, and price tiers can be set per product.

Can I see who owes me the most?

Customer balances and the receivables aging report show outstanding amounts and how overdue they are. Aging reports need the Business plan or above.
