What is white-label business software?
· 4 min read
The short answer
White-label software is a finished product that you can offer to your customers under your own name. They see your logo, your colours and your web address. You do not build or maintain the software itself.
Who uses it
It suits businesses that already have customers who need software but do not want to build it:
- Software and IT companies adding a product to their range.
- Agencies serving small businesses.
- Consultants who set up and support client systems.
- Resellers who want a recurring service to sell.
What to check before you choose
Not every white-label offer is the same. Ask:
- Can I use my own domain?
- Which screens show my branding?
- How many client businesses can I manage?
- Who supports my clients, and how?
- What are the limits, in writing?
What it does not do
White label gives you a product to sell. It does not bring you customers, and you remain the first point of contact for the ones you sign. Plan for onboarding and support as part of your service.
